Robert Dodge

July 23, 1941- June 26, 2018

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Health Science North Hospital in Sudbury at the age of 76 years surrounded by members of his loving family. Robert fought a very courageous battle with cancer, but he lived and seized every day to the fullest.

Robert was born on July 23, 1941 in Kirkland Lake. He led a distinguished career in education for 36 years; three years as a teacher and thirty three  years as a principal. He dedicated himself to a life of service beyond his school and to the greater community; as an active member of his parish, as a teacher of faith, leadership and parenting courses. He assumed several executive positions as a member of the Lions Club for 46 years. He volunteered his time without expection or reservation in countless projects, including ensuring the successful establishment and completion of the Northdale Manor. His commitment as an teacher and life time learner extended to his second career as a financial planner with The Royal Bank. Robert believed that no matter what happened in life, you needed to be kind to people. He believed that being kind to people was a wonderful legacy.

 Loving husband of Colleen. Proud father of David, Beverly (Dan) and Richard (Angie). Survived by his brothers, Tom and John and by his sisters, Annette, Rita & Terri. Predeceased by his parents, Aldolph & Simone as well as his brother Gilbert. Robert will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Curtis, Tyler, Dylan and Jaclyn.  Relatives and friends may pay respect at the Perrin Funeral Home, 128 Whitewood Avenue West, New Liskeard on Sunday July 1^st, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning July 2^nd, 2018 at 11 o’clock in the Mother of Perpetual Help Church, New Liskeard.
