Condolences
I wanted to express my sadness at Joan's passing. She was a dear friend of my grandmother Jean Craik who has also passed. Joan always made me feel special and important. She was so kind and special, a truly wonderful person. She even gave me flowers from her garden some years ago that I still have till this day growing in mine. I am sorry for your loss. Larry, Pauline, Ron, Mike, Greg and Ricky,
So sad to hear of your mom's passing. My thoughts are with all of you. She was a beautiful, kind and gentle person. Every time I met her, whether as a young gril in Earlton or as an adult in N.L., she would always ask me, "How are you, Suzanne?" and I always felt she really was interested. Made me feel important and special every time! May the love she had for all of you and the special memories you have of her help you through this sad time.
Sincere condolences.
Suzanne Gauthier

To Larry, Pauline, Ron, Mike, Greg and Ricky… We have so many fond memories of your Mom. Lucky for us her close friendship with our Mom brought our families together for many years during our childhood in Earlton. We will forever remember her for her beautiful smile, her soft spoken voice, her laugh and her wise words of advice.
Thinking of each and every one of you (and your families)

What a beautiful tribute by the family for a beautiful woman. She was so proud of all of them. Unfortunately distance (& age) have kept us from visiting for several years but Joan & I have kept in touch over the years...often with very lengthy phone calls! How fortunate I am to be able to say we were great friends for 50 years...Ah the memories we’ve made together...I will think of my wonderful friend often ... and smile!
À la grande famille de Joan; the New Liskeard Fortier Clan:
This is sad news indeed. I knew your mother, Joan, since I was 5 years old, when we moved back to New Liskeard and were neighbours with you "on top of the hill." She, and your Dad, and each one of you Fortier kids, are a part of our lives, and we feel this loss, even from a distance in time, and place. I was so fond of Joan, and lucky to have been able to see her last summer (2020) in New Liskeard. Every single time I saw her, from the time I was 5 until the time I was 55 she would have a giant warm sincere smile. (I went to your house often to borrow every single one of Pauline's "Nancy Drew books... and then Joan figured out that I would like the "Hardy Boys" just as much, and, because there were many more boys than girls in that household, there were many more of those books to borrow. It's an old memory but a sweet one). It makes me happy to know that she lived well and happily and long for years after ton père est décedée... avec ses ami(e)s, ces passe-temps, sa grande famille et plutôt, the incredible cottage at Twin Lakes. Bye, Joan. Love from Karen.
Rest In Peace Matante! Hollydore, Estelle, Nathalie Fortier et Francine Houle
To all Joan's family we extend our sincere sympathy. Your mum was our friend and neighbor for many years, lots of laughs were shared on our back decks. She even taught me how to make relish last September and from her very own tree, crabapple jelly. She was a wonderful person, and I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace Joan. We love You. Ray and Virginia.

Joan was a lovely gentle soul, who I enjoyed getting to know on her visits to Toronto to see Pauline. She faithfully travelled to attend my annual Florida Parties for many years, which were attended by several mother daughter duos. My mother and I considered her to be a friend and I am sorry for your loss. She will be missed by all who knew her. Jf
