Mildred was born on November 12, 1916 in P.Q, moving to Earlton, then Kenabeek when she was 12 years old. She married Wes Ruttan on April 27th, 1936 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage, living in Kenabeek until Wes moved to the Manor in New Liskeard and Mildred went to live with her daughter, Leona in Southern Ontario, returning to the North in 2014. Mildred was a homemaker raising six children. She was an excellent seamstress, making outfits for her family, without patterns. She also made costumes for the Christmas concert plays. She was a self-taught barber and had a few regular customers. Mildred also enjoyed baking bread, tarts, cookies and pies for her family and friends. She never lacked trick or treaters on Halloween as she always made homemade fudge for them. She had a great sense of humor, entertaining us with her jokes, storied and sayings. Nothing was more important than her Faith, her children and extended family. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, aunt, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Special thanks to Dr. Davies, Joanne Presseault and Team Members at Extendicare Haileybury for their loving care of "Gramma". Special thanks to long-time friend, Emil Tokarsky.
