Condolences
Condolences to the Ruttan family, with special remembrance of Norman, Sheila and Leona.
I remember long ago staying overnight at their place one weekend with Sheila.
I think it was Norman who hunted some rabbits and brought them in.
We were going to have rabbit stew for supper!..
I had never tasted rabbit, so was both curious and nervous.
Well, I didn't have to worry as I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious chicken stew.
And didn't realize until much later that I had just enjoyed my first taste of rabbit so much I had seconds!
Fond memories!

So sorry to hear of Grandma Ruttan passing as I called her as a little girl. I still remember her making Lisa and I matching rag dolls when we were little. She was always such a kind lady with a huge smile. Big hugs to all of you.

Sending love, hugs & deepest sympathy to the family & friends of Mildred. My all the memories bring you comfort in the days a head. ❤️❤️
Dear Ruttan Family,
My sincere condolences to all of you. So, glad you mentioned Halloween, I remember going as a kid to your place also, back when you visited all the neighbours and got great homemade stuff. Kenabeek was a great place to grow up and you will have so many memories of your Mom & family to cherish in the years to come.
Hugs
Patti Foley(Jibb)
My condolences to the family. I often tell the story of halloween in Kenabeek and the most prized treat- our next door neighbors Mrs. Ruttans fudge! She always had a special bag sat aside for us that had an extra piece. Such a kind and wonderful neighbor.

Also condolences from my parents: Danny and Deanna Winters.
About 40 years back my parents (Cliff & June) got a large trailer and that Friday my Grandma (Mildred) came over. It was just Grandma & I staying in the trailer that night to test it out. At one point Grandma said it's like camping in a tiny house, as she looked at its kitchen area. But we also had some small marshmallows, bits & bits/chex mix, etc. so that probably helped.
Anyways we told each other ghost stories which always ended with a lot of laughing. Plus we talked and told each other some other stories too, and so the stories and laughing went on for a few hours. Then the house door opened and my father (Cliff) loudly said:
"Hey you kids settle down in there!"
We could so hear his smile when he said that... Grandma & I burst out laughing & laughed so much that we were in tears.
After several minutes we calmed down and turned off the tiny warm light to settle down for the night. Then Grandma whispered: "Shhh we have to be quiet now"...
And we started laughing all over again! :D
.
All the best everyone who makes it up north, also hope everyone can tell one of Mildred's stories at some point verbally, online, etc. Big thank you to Sheila & Garth.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Aunt Mildred’s passing. She will be missed by her wonderful family and dear friends. Over the last many years I was always so happy to receive photographs, letters and phone calls from my cousins keeping me updated on how their mom was doing. I have many fond memories of my mother Laura and my Aunt Mildred sitting around the kitchen table, laughing to the point of tears, while sharing their childhood stories with the rest of us. Coming from a family of eleven children they always had a wealth of interesting tales. I guess it’s now up to us to keep telling their life stories and by doing so they will be forever loved and forever remembered.
Our thoughts are with you all.
