Condolences
I know "Mrs. Carleton" will be lovingly remembered by many as they think about their kindergarten days. She was strict but she cared. Looking back I wonder how she ever managed to keep us all in line. I have fond memories of the alphabet picture scrapbook she had us make, counting to 100 for the first time and learning to tie my shoes. I remember working so hard to learn to tie my shoes and not being able to do it before the end of the school day on Friday. I kept working at it and I was so proud to plop down in front of her at church on Sunday morning and show her how I could now tie my shoe.
It was a special surprise to get to know her as an adult and learn that she loved Winnie the Pooh - perhaps even more than we did as children and that she was passionate about figure skating. I think of her every time I watch the skaters perform.
May you find some comfort in knowing that she made a difference in our young lives as we learned to navigate school with all of its rules for the first time.
My deepest condolences to the family and friends! She was a wonderful lady!
I was very sorry to hear that Ena had been very ill for some time and has now passed on. I know she was quite active in her church. I know she would agree that because of Jesus there is Hope in times of sorrow and hope for the heart, for Jesus is always with you and promises never to leave you.
I have many wonderful memories of Ena from teaching with her at Kerns and special times as friends outside of school. She was always so supportive.
Even though I no longer live close I know she will be missed.
Sending all our love at your time of loss. We are treasuring all our happy memories with your mom at the cottage. We will always remember her happy face and loving ways. Please know you are in our hearts and thoughts.
