Growing up in Larder Lake I had the privilege of knowing Curly, Bernice and the Murdoch family. Curly was such a likeable man, always smiling. I can just imagine all of the happy memories and all of the wonderful stories that will be remembered and shared. Rest in peace Curly. I'm sure there were many souls waiting to welcome you.
Another of the old gang joins our dad in the coffee group of the great beyond. Undoubtedly they’ll continue to laugh as they share their stories while passing the ace. We miss them but are comforted to know their physical pain is done.

My condolences to all who have known "Curly" I was privileged to have known him from 1974 when I joined the Fire Department.
Our deepest condolences to Bernice, Rick, Dean, Kathy and families. Curly, or "Grandpa Curly" as the children called him will always have a special place in our hearts. Curly was a very special man that always had time to chat or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. When we first moved to Sutcliffe you both took us under your wing. When I lost my Dad in 1999 Curly without being asked stepped up and filled that role. He became "Grandpa Curly" to Cassandra, Kaitlyn and Logan. He provided them with his wisdom and knowledge and showered them with Love. For this we will be forever grateful! We will always cherish the chats on the patio and the gatherings in the basement as the children put on shows for us. Curly will be missed by many but the memories you have gave us will last forever.
Much love from
Alain Peggy Cassandra Kaitlyn Logan and families
My Stepfather
This is lengthy so feel free to skip to the next one
-1967 the Murdoch’s became our neighbours
-Familes became fast friends
-7 children between the Families
-Still keep tabs on each other’s families
-My Father & Curly soon started conversations during “Happy Hour”
-This led to what would be on HGTV today if they had been able to “record” the re-use of the ONR railways passenger arrival boardwalk into 2 carports that will withstand a hurricane (God Bless whoever takes them down)
-Try to find someone in Temiskiming area that could keep “ 2 “ Sno-Jets running for 15 years !!
-10 years after their first meeting my Father passed, I was 21, Breeda was still at home with Mom
- Curly was the sole reason my Mother was able to continue living on Sutcliffe Cr for another 30 years amongst her friends
-As I grew older, Curly had the first “MAN CAVE” I had ever been in, THE WALL of honour, his wide assortment of trophies (most at the expense of his wife’s Boss(Alf)
- His infamous “2 finger” pours
- Fresh salted peanuts every time at the bar
- If Curly did’nt have the tool, you did’nt need it
- He was my Stepfather
- Each conversation felt like I was talking to my father, I usually followed his advice, couple of times I went against his judgement (usually lost)
I will miss you so much, but you have given me so much to remember you by, as you have for so many of your family.
God Bless you all the family, wii speak to you soon
Steve, Lori and Adam
