Obituary of Phyllis Evelyn Hanley (Ross)

Dr. Phyllis Evelyn Hanley (Ross) was born in Brantford, Ontario on June 12, 1934 to Henry and Hilda Hanley.  She graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1958. She was a doctor in the New Liskeard area from 1975 to 2006. She was a dedicated doctor who really cared for her patients. She even did house calls for many years.

Dr. Hanley was predeceased by her parents, and her husband D. Cragg Ross.

She will be missed by her children: David C. Ross and his wife, Heather; Charles G. Ross and his wife, Lesley; and Kathryn E. Ross and her wife, Liz, and by her grandchildren: Anna Ross and David C.H. Ross. She is also survived by her sisters Dr. Christina Hanley, and Marion Birkinshaw and her family.

Phyllis’s family will receive friends and family at the Perrin Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2 – 4 pm and from 7 – 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11 am from the funeral home.  Rev. Judith Visser officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

The Ross Family would like to thank Temiskaming Home Support and Bonnie Charland for the care provided that allowed Mom to live at home for as long as she did. We would also like to thank the staff of the Temiskaming Hospital, especially the night nursing staff and Dr. Lawson and Dr. Barron for their exceptional care and compassion.
