Obituary of Donald George Fowler

In loving memory of Mr. Donald George Fowler who passed away at the Temiskaming Lodge on Sunday June 2, 2019 at the age of 90.

Don will be missed by his children Larry (Sylvia), Allen (Cheri) and Laurie (Rick Orton), his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister Marjorie Dewar. He was predeceased by his parents Ted and Ruby Fowler, his wife Liz (nee Smith), his daughter Evelyn and his brother Larry Fowler.

Don grew up on his parents’ farm in Uno Park. He married the love of his life Liz Smith in 1952 and together they raised their children. Don worked at Wabi Iron and Steel for 48 years from the age of 15.

On his hobby farm in Hudson Township, Don was known for his potatoes and other produce. He also spent many hours volunteering for the United Church, both at Hillview and St. Paul’s and he was the caretaker of St. John’s Anglican Church for twenty five years. He was also a passionate member and contributor to the Little Claybelt Museum. His biggest joy though came from the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
