I cannot believe that she has gone so soon. I will always remember her happy voice when I called with Jim in my car beside me. I will pass on the sad news on to Jim. I want to pass on my sincere condolences to Paul. I will try to be in touch but I don't know if the number I have is home or the cottage. I guess I am only happy that Darlene does not have to suffer any more from her back pain. May you rest in peace my dear friend Darlene.
Mes sincères sympathies et merci pour les beaux souvenirs !
Nos plus sincères condoléances à toi Paul ainsi qu’à toute la famille. On pense à vous!

Thinking of you Paul. We will sure miss Dar. We had a lot of laughs together. RIP Dar
What fun we had over the nearly 40 years that we were fortunate enough to be two of Darlene’s friends! From snowmobile excursions into the depths of Quebec, to New Years’ at the Latchford tavern(twice), boat camping trips, and nice dinners followed sometimes by cards or Scrabble. Dar’s prime rib was the best!
Most people do not know that Dar could walk on water. All you had to do was get her to stand next to the boat and say ‘Oh neat, look at all the leeches’. She was also faster than Usain Bolt if you said to her while walking on a trail ‘Oh neat, look at that garter snake’. If all of Dar’s words used during Scrabble were accepted by the Oxford Dictionary, it would be several meters thick. What fun, what laughs, what joy!
It is very hard to write this today; but, it is very easy to remember the friendship and the good times. Nobody could ask for a truer or more generous friend. We’re very fortunate to have known her.
To Paul and all of Dar’s extended family and friends, please accept our deepest condolences. It is very difficult to not be there with you during your and our time of grief; but be certain, there are tears flowing in Uruguay.
Now symphathies a toi ainsI que vos familles Paul ,,Nos prières et penser sont avec toi Durant çe temps difficile ,,RIP Darlene ,,pH2

We are so very sorry to hear of Auntie Dar's sudden passing. We refer to her this way as we are friends of Mike and Jenny and knew her as Auntie Dar. She was a special lady, so full of energy, so funny, friendly and kind. We really loved spending time with both Auntie Dar and Uncle Paul when they came to visit in Burlington. Sending our heartfelt sympathies and love to you all. Lisa and Jack xxxooo

Sending my condolences to the Rivard family and their close friends. I remember Darlene during the busy times at the Temiskaming Square when the family owned Captain Submarine. We had many laughs over the years and she sure could hold her own on any topics if a difference of opinion arose. RIP Darlene
