Janet Margaret Ferguson

1955 – 2019

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the death of Janet Margaret Ferguson on February 20, 2019, at the age of 63. She left us peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a 4 ½ year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer's.

Janet was born in New Liskeard to Cecile and Glenn Walton. Surviving family is her dedicated and loving husband Vaughan, son Liam, daughter Marci (Dane Alexander) and granddaughter Avery Alexander. Left to mourn is father Glenn Walton, younger brother Michael (Cathy Dwyer) and niece Savannah.  Janet was predeceased by her mother and best friend Cecile in 2011.

Janet loved all manner of music, dancing, singing and friendship.  She would often break into dance whenever and wherever she heard music; a dancing partner was not required.  She was an accomplished pianist, and loved playing Disney theme songs. Until recently, she played the piano which gave everyone great pleasure.  She was an avid member of the Temiskaming Community Choir.  Most of all, she loved her friends and family. 

Janet began to work in the family business, Glenn Walton Shoes, in 1979, until its closure in 2014. She gave back to her community and volunteered for many organizations.

To our friends and family, we wish to thank you for the outpouring of love and support; it is so precious to us at this time, and we will remain eternally grateful.

Visitation will be held March 1, 2019, Perrin Funeral Chapel, 128 Whitewood Ave W, New Liskeard, ON between 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. 

The Funeral Service with be held on March 2, 2019, at the Presbyterian Church St. Andrews, 45 Wellington St, New Liskeard, ON at 11 am.
