Aunt Rita, Lisa, Sue & Deb... It's taken a few days for me to absorb the loss of such a great man & in many ways a 2nd father to me. As I reflect on my childhood & into my adult years there was always one thing I could count on, the love and support of Uncle Bud. His sense of humour, quick wit, kindness to all & love for his family & friends are traits I admire most. His impact on all who were lucky enough to know him is larger than life. For that I am grateful & blessed...My Love & prayers are with you all.
Our sincerest sympathies to you Rita and your girls. Our connection to Bud goes back to childhood and Lakeshore Road when the Carrs moved in with us until they found a place to live after moving here from Matachewan. Such wonderful and carefree days those were! Bud went on to connect with countless others in his teaching career and community involvement. He will be missed! Dorothy Janet and Peggy

Dear Rita and family:
Deb and I are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Bud. A true character who helped make me truly welcome as part of the NLSS family. I loved listening to his wit and stories in the staff room. We both spent many happy hours with him at the rink and the golf course too and his warmth and affectionate personality were always evident.
We are very sorry for your loss. He will be missed.
Bob and Debbie Hudson
Susan, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dear Rita, Lisa, Susan, Debbie and families, so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I first met Mr. Carr in shop class at NLSS and after at the Horne Granite when he told me to call him Bud because I was no longer a student. Always enjoyed being around him as he was a positive influence on everyone who knew him. The last time I saw Bud is when he came to Cape Breton to visit with his Florida friends and we had a chance to play golf and catch up. I know that a large part of your family is gone but rest assured that he is in a better place with his "extended curling family" and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Rita and family: Rory & I are so very saddened to learn of the passing of Bud. What memories we have of curling, or sitting downstairs singing with Sarge, visiting at your house , chatting on the street. Rita, we got our 8-ender thanks to Bud - of course you and Scott swept it there!!! Played against Al Hackner thanks to Bud getting us to the Provincial. Partying all night at Gord's after they won a berth to the Brier. Just an all round good friend, great teacher, wonderful family man and loving husband. May your memories sustain you and may God bless each of you.

So very sorry to hear of Buds passing. He has always been one of those people who everybody knew and loved. He certainly lived life to its absolute fullest, and seemed to enjoy every aspect of it. He will certainly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure and privilege to know him.
Sorry to hear of your loss. Many fond memories of curling both for and against Bud. Don't remember the games but the sociability and humour that followed. Also remember when Bud and his fire crew used to arrive unannounced at the school and trip the fire alarm, just to see if our fire drills were up to snuff. (We always passed with flying colours) Bud was a great guy. A true Northerner. Jackie and I express our deepest sympathy to the family.

Rita, Lisa, Susan, Debbie and family my heartfelt condolences.
Coaches teach you how to play a game. Great coaches teach you how to be a better person.
Curling with Bud I learned that it wasn’t all about the Scoreboard all of the time.
I learned to play with passion, but remain a good sport. I learned that practice, patience and strangely enough the camaraderie off of the ice also contributed to our success.
I will cherish the memories, Bud was a great coach/skip and friend.
Dear Rita and family...writing this with tears in my eyes...was saddened to hear of Bud passing.
