Obituary of Rodney Peters

William Rodney Peters passed away with his family by his side at the Temiskaming Lodge Wednesday August 8^th 2018.

He was the son of the late Gerald and Millie Peters. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 43years, Cora Emily Florence Craig followed by his second life partner, Cecile Pepin.

Rodney had five sisters, Dorothy (Bob Leslie) Verna (Garfield Harling), Laura (Morley Jibb), Effie (Harry Stewart), Viola (Jeff Modolo), and four brothers, Dalton (Joan Peters), Calvin (Jean Peters), Clarence (Betty Peters), Ralph (Alice Peters).

He will also be fondly remembered by his brother in law Mervin Craig (Donna), Larry Craig (Donna), and Debbie Degagner (Eddie).

Rodney was a loving father of three wonderful children, Michael, Kathie (Moe St-Onge) and Ryan (Joanne). He was also a very proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Brodie (Meagan), Tavis (Patsy), Dylan (Sarah), Jay and Ava, and five great grandchildren, Maverick, Bella, Lexy, Andi and Rylee.

Rodney was a long-time resident of Hudson township.  As a very hard working and driven person, he pursued his dream of becoming a successful business owner, eventually as owner/manager of Texaco Bulk Fuels.   He retired at the age of 53 and was known locally for his various collection of classic cars, his passion for fishing, boating, the love of baseball, hockey, and was always up for a game of cards. He loved country music and enjoyed listening to his children perform live on many occasions.

Visitation will be Friday August 10th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Perrin Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at St-Paul’s United Church, New Liskeard, on Saturday August 11^th at 2:00pm.  

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Bassin’ for Kids tournament or Community Cancer Care of Temiskaming.
