Obituary of Marlene James

In loving memory of Mrs. Marlene James who passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the age of 73.

Marlene grew up in Kirkland Lake, married at a young age and had 3 kids before she was 21!!!

Marlene will be missed by her beloved husband Bruce, her dear children Bruce, Pamela and Sean (Paula) her cherished granddaughter Selina and her brother Jim (Fay) Britt and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Larry Britt.

Marlene was a vibrant woman who loved to tell a good story and always went out of her way to talk with and help others. She had a quirky sense of humor which endeared her to everyone. She was not beyond a little bit of gossiping either. It’s a great testament to her nature and strong personality that she formed so many long lasting friendships over the years.

Marlene was a very talented lady. She was an incredible cook, and her craft and decorating skills could put Martha Stewart to shame and she loved every minute of it. Her greatest quality was helping others, whenever someone needed something or help she was there in a heartbeat. She was a proud and stubborn woman and believed that there was no obstacle that couldn’t be overcome.

A celebration of her life will be planned at a later date.
