Obituary of John Davidson Flood

In loving memory of John "Bud" Flood who passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the age of 82.

Bud will be missed by his loving wife Marney, his dear children Sherry, Tanya, Cindy (Kim Ansley), Leonard and Sonya (Javan Mukhtarov), his precious grandchildren Jade Ansley, Micah Berthelette, Alexie Berthelette, and Troy Flood, his siblings Lois Dearden, Velma Nichol (Fred), Barb Somerville, Sheila Connors (Don), Lorne Flood (Eleanor), Laura Jean Costello (Nelson), and Dorothy Anne Larkman, and sisters-in-law Alice Flood and Patricia Flood.

He was predeceased by his parents Wycliffe and Barbara Flood and step-mother Laura Flood; as well as his precious daughter Tracey, his siblings Joyce Nichol, Jean Haleschuck, Dan Flood, Leonard Flood, Kieth Flood and Clarence Flood, and his brothers-in-law Dave Dearden, Lawrence Nichol, Bill Somerville and John Haleschuck.

Bud was born and raised in Henwood Township.  He attended the McCool School and New Liskeard High School.  On November 28th, 1959 Bud married Marney Bowen.  In their 58 year marriage they raised 6 children and were proud grandparents to four amazing grandchildren.

He worked various jobs with the railroad in the mines and in construction.  He was a self-trained heavy equipment mechanic.  In 1982 Bud started up JR Contracting with his partner Ritchie Jibb.  The company later became Kenabeek Contractors.  Bud was well known in the auction circuit and was an avid collector.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Ryan Sayer and all of the nursing staff at the Temiskaming Hospital and Englehart Hospital for their support and kindness during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place.  Bud's family will receive friends and family on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 7pm until 9 pm at the Perrin Funeral Chapel.

A celebration of life will be held at the Flood Residence on Saturday, May 26th at 1:00pm.  Guests will be invited to share their stories and memories of Bud during this celebration. 

If desired, donations to the Kenabeek Community Society, The Kenabeek Fire Department or the Temiskaming Hospital Care Close To Home Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
