Obituary of Fleurette Fournel

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Fleurette Fournel on December 19th, 2017.  Fleurette was born on February 6th 1932 in Ste. Perpetue, Quebec. She raised her family in Kirkland Lake and retired to New Liskeard, Ontario.

In her retirement, Fleurette devoted countless hours volunteering in the community and specifically to Victim Services.  She was named “Senior of the Year” in Temiskaming Shores in 2005 for her hard work and commitment to helping the community. She also received the VCARS award for her dedication to volunteering and for going above and beyond the call of duty.

She was predeceased by her husband Roger Fournel in 1997 and her parents Gildas and Elise Fortin, her brothers Gerard and Jean Hubert Fortin.  She is survived by her loving children Maurice Fournel, Suzanne Soltys (John), Pauline Suppa (Bob), and Cecile Gibbons (Pat),  by her beloved grandchildren Micheline Fournel-Weldrick (Richard), Robbie (Shannon) and Shane Suppa (Cathy), Tara (Dave), and Evan Palaszewski (Val) and her precious great grandchildren Autumn, Taylor, Mason, Alex, Grace, Hutton, Aniella, Colson and Ava. She is also survived by her three sisters Jeanette Paquet, Marguerite Lafrance and Rita Hebert.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11 am from the Holy Cross Church in Haileybury.
