Condolences
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Rick. But what a fighter and what a great guy. We bought our camp down-river from Twin Bear 13 years ago sight/unseen. My son Dave and I travelled up that November and Rick boated down with us as darkness set in and helped us check the place out, finding an old generator and getting it going. I don’t know what we would have done without him. We are among many who will have said the same thing. And that’s Rick. We will miss him but will always remember his kindness and good humour on our many trips north. Condolences to Janet, Shawn, Jeremy and other family members. Tony Dean, Marie Boutilier and David Dean.
It is with heavy heart that we write this after learning of the passing of Rick. Our deepest condolences to Janet, Shawn, Jeremy and family. Rick was a generous man who with great subtlety imparted many lessons on a naïve city family looking to enjoy the Montreal River. As much as we are eager to get to the camp to enjoy the north, we equally anticipated seeing Rick and Janet to catch up and hear another good story that would bring a smile to our faces. We take solace in knowing that Rick will be with us on every twist and turn of the Montreal river, lessons that will be passed down through generations. It is also comforting to know that we will continue to see Rick in both Shawn and Jeremy, who share his generosity, humility and story telling skills. We hope that all of your great memories with Rick help you through this time of great sorrow.

Natalie, David & I extend our sincerest condolences. Rick was one of the great ones, and we are privileged to have known him. We still remember the wave that Rick gave us through the door as we left Twin Bears last fall. With much sadness, Natalie, Bruno, David
For the past 10 years our family has had the pleasure of visiting Twin Bear Camp. The main reason we return every year is the great hospitality shown to us by Rick and Janet. Rick's genuine caring, good nature was always on display. He was such a generous, giving person. Family fish fries, ATV rides, hanging out by the fire....all organized by Rick, with a smile on his face.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Janet and the rest of the family.
