Dear Carole, Monica & Family:
I would like to take this opportunity to give you my sincerest of condolences at this difficult time. When I was s student at Kerns Public School, I remember Juergen being in attendance at various functions. He took a keen interest in the schools that the Board had jurisdiction over and was a kind man. However, I was not aware of his other accomplishments in life.
May he rest in peace and may you find strength in each other and remember the good times.
John R. Middleton
I am so sorry to hear Juergen passed away. I knew him for a short time while working at the Temiskaming Lodge. He always stopped by my office to have a conversation in German. Wonderful obituary of his life. Barbara

Every year when we were in Canada, we had a lot of fun with Juergen and Carole. We laughed so much that our stomachs hurt. Every once a while they had a wonderful surprise for us. We celebrated Heinz's 70s birthday(surprise party with the whole family) or we had "Christmas Coffee" in August because Juergen knew that we loved his German "Stollen" which Juergen made so perfect. I also loved his Cinnamon buns so much, they were the best.And.... I loved the way when he called his brother "Heinzelmann" "Heinzelmann". I miss him already very much and I will never forget him. So sad to hear the loss of Juergen. What a wonderful example he was of an immigrant coming to Canada, he embraced his newly adopted country and contributed so much to his community and district. He was such an enjoyable man to chat with and always positive vibes in what he believed in. He accomplished so much in life.
Many years have passed Carol since our days gone by from working with you at BNS Earlton but it was always a friendship that I haven't forgotten. May Juergen R I P.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this most difficult time.

Aunt Carole, Monica, Darren and family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Uncle Jeurgen. I hope you know you all are in our thought and prayers. As I read Jeurgen's obituary (so nicely done) it reminded me of what an amazing man, husband, father and uncle he was. It triggered wonderful memories of visiting all of you over the years....the bakery, your German shepherd (of course you had to have a dog of German origin:), going with him to watch him coach or referee a soccer game in Kirkland Lake, time spent on the farm with all of you and the convenient group of boys across the road (Malley's sp?) to do those things boys need to be doing at that age..healthy mischief I will call it. I remember how much my Dad loved to go visit the farm and spend time with Jeurgen and his wonderful family, what mealtime was like with such a close knit family, the laughter, the feeling of love and so much more. I remember how fondly he would always speak of my Dad after he passed away and the highly detailed examples he would provide that made me know my father even better. I remember the pride he and Aunt Carole always had for their children and how they set the example of "family first" that I know has impacted so many of us in a tremendous way. His powerful voice and laugh will always be remembered ....and you would know when you were talking to him he was really listening to you..that he truly cared. I could keep going but I think we all get the point....what an amazing man and blessing to us all! I will always cherish his memory. Love, Barry

I have fond memories of helping Juergen and his friend and fellow soccer fan John Farrington get the youth soccer league started. Another memory is when he and John convinced me that making our own wine would be a good idea. Juergen bought the grapes and we crushed them in John's basement. However, the end result was wine that was undrinkable, but we had lots of laughs.
Sad to hear of his passing.
