Condolences
The Farmer Family from Owen Sound send our condolences. Ken and Fay would regularly drop in for a visit or a weekend on their way South. Fay and my Mom (Jean) went to Texas together for many years after they were both widowed. Fay was a great help to Mom in adapting to a house of one.
I remember being with my mom in Dominion store in the 60's, and at her favorite till the lady said, 'Oh Jean i have something for you!'. She produced an envelope with a note written on the back. "Jean and Jack. Were on our way to the ball game and stopped in. Sorry to miss you. Mont and Fay." The lady on the till was married to a postal worker. He was sorting mail and this already posted envelope had ended up back in the mail undoubtedly scooped up at our house. He found it at the post office and knowing only one Jack and Jean, gave it to his wife to give to Mom on her weekly visit through the till.
I also remember Mom and Dad going up to Mont's retirement from the Hydro. Jack said ' gee Mont you;d better get ready'. Ken said, Jack, they didn't have a party for me when i started and I am not going to this one. Some young manager from Toronto is going to say nice things about me having never met me, and then I've got to think of something to say back. Lets just have another beer!"
Please accept our best wishes to you all from Owen Sound.
