Obituary of Margaret-Rose McMahon

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the death of Margaret-Rose McMahon (nee Pym) in the early hours of June 16th, 2020 at the Temiskaming Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving daughter Carrie and her children Brandon Hawkins and Brittany Hawkins and her granddaughter Charlie Hawkins; her loving son Shawn McMahon and his wife Donna, their children Lindsey(Chris) Barron and their girls Chloe and Paige; and Doug Deering; also her son-in-law Robert Hawkins. She is also survived by her brothers Fred (Sharon) Pym, and Arthur (Kathy) Pym and one sister Violet Vallance. Also surviving are her sisters-in law and brothers-in-law Joyce (Ken deceased) Sobol, Norman (Aldine deceased) McMahon, Richard (Marilyn deceased) Kelly, Fred (Aldine deceased) Haviland, Allan (Linda) McMahon, Debbie (Gerard) Cormier, Darlene (Raymond deceased) John McLellan, Stephen (Bertha deceased) McMahon and Dwight (Debbie) McMahon and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick James Pym and Gertrude Clara Pym (nee Hughes) and three nieces Lorraine Pym, Audrey Pym and Janice Cook, and her in-laws Leona (Phil) Marion. Margaret was an Elementary School Teacher, Primary Specialist for almost 40 years. She taught at Elk Lake Public, Kerns Public and New Liskeard Public Schools. She was a member of the Norland Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star (New Liskeard) until it was dissolved as well as the Fidels Chapter #99 Order of the Eastern Star (North Bay) for many years. She held many Officer positions, some as many as 2 or 3 times, over the years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society in North Bay. The family would like to thank Dr Stacy Desilets for her compassion, care and support while looking after Mom as well as the staff at Temiskaming Hospital for their care and support. Heaven as gained another Angel.
