Obituary of Rodrigue Lemire

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rod on Sunday, May 17, 2020 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Rod was born in New Liskeard on November 5, 1968. Predeceased by his father Mr. Jean-Claude Lemire and survived by his mother Rita (née Plante) Lemire. Rod will forever be loved by his wife and best friend Claudie Herbet. Forever remembered and cherished by his children; Philippe (Marie-Claude), Christopher (Katrina), Chad and his favourite garage buddy and only grandson Liam. He is survived by his brother Christian (Lisanne), his sister Sylvette (Peter) and numerous nieces and nephews. Rod’s love for his family, his passion for his work and his love for the outdoors will forever be remembered and serve as inspiration for those who were close to him. His empathy, his humor, his desire to help others and the love that he showed to those he cared for lit up people’s lives. It is for those reasons that we wish to thank him for everything. Our adventure here continues but his new one is just beginning. As Rod would say; “Gotta Go!” C’est avec le coeur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Rodrigue le 17 mai 2020 après un long combat courageux contre le cancer. Né à New Liskeard le 5 novembre 1968, fils de feu Jean-Claude Lemire et de Rita Plante (Lemire). Rodrigue laisse pour pleurer sa perte sa femme et meilleure amie Claudie Herbet ainsi que ses enfants Philippe (Marie-Claude), Christopher (Katrina), Chad, son compagnon de garage et seul petit-fils Liam, son frère Christian (Lisanne), sa soeur Sylvette (Peter) et nombreux neveux et nièces. Son amour pour sa famille, sa passion pour le plein-air et son travail resteront pour toujours une source d’inspiration pour ses proches. Son empathie, son sens d’humour et son désir d’aider ceux qui lui étaient proches fuent une source de bonheur pour ces derniers. C’est pour cela que nous lui disons merci pour tout. Notre aventure ici continue mais la sienne, toute nouvelle, ne fait que commencer. Comme dirait Rodrigue: “Gotta go!”
