Obituary of Noël Gauthier

Noël Gauthier It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Noël Gauthier at the Temiskaming Hospital on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the age of 94. Noël was born on January 25th 1926 in Sainte-Anne des Plaines, Québec. He was a strong, very hardworking man. He married Beatrice Beaudry and fathered 9 children. By the age of 24, he purchased his own Dairy Farm in order to provide for his family as well as pursue his passion as a farmer. He lost his wife to cancer in 1979. He then remarried Alfreda Paquin in 1990. This is a man who was so proud of his family along with all his accomplishments. With a positive outlook, a contagious smile, a kind and compassionate spirit; he was our greatest role model. Despite having to work so hard to achieve all his goals, he always made time to do the things he enjoyed most. From playing darts, pool and cards. He will always be remembered for never turning down an arm-wrestling competition, as he always made sure to win. From little boxing matches and the jokes he shared always brought smiles to our faces. On his down time, there was nothing better than to watch TV. Hockey and game shows were some of his favorites. He lived life to the fullest alongside his family. He treasured every moment ensuring that everyone was fed and having fun. Every visit was made memorable by him reminiscing about his life and past. Stories that he never wanted forgotten. Over the last two years, he managed to charm his health workers with his wittiness. He loved whole heartedly and he was loved by many. Noël was predeceased by his parents Jean-Baptiste and Elizabeth (Durant) Gauthier. His wives Beatrice (Beaudry) Gauthier and Alfreda (Paquin) Gauthier. His daughter Yolande Yanta and Grandson Brad Heath as well as many brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his sister Florence Pomminville from Rouyn-Noranda, QC. He will be dearly missed by his children Pauline (Fern) Lachapelle, Paul (Jacqueline) Gauthier, Diane (Bruno) Blain, Lise (Chad) Heath Gauthier, Richard Gauthier, Michel (Johanne) Gauthier, Joel (Carole) Gauthier, Monique (Jamie) Favron. As well as his beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. With the unforeseen epidemic circumstances a private family service will take place with burial to follow at the St Jean Baptiste cemetery in Earlton. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Lynn Lacasse and nursing staff at the Temiskaming Hospital for their excellent care provided.
