Obituary of Gerri Giroux

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerri Giroux (née Snook) at the Temiskaming Hospital on February 18, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Gerri was born on April 24, 1941 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where she grew up and later met her husband Ron. She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Bea Snook. Gerri is survived by her spouse of 51 years, Ron Giroux and her son Marc Giroux of New Liskeard. She will be remembered dearly by her sisters in law; Mercedes Snook, Ursula Giroux and Sue (Roger Brunet) Giroux, her brother in law Mike (Carol) Giroux and nieces and nephews. Gerri is predeceased by her brother George Snook and her brother in law Bob Giroux. Over the years, Gerri and Ron took to travelling and found their new passion. Seeing the world had become their life endeavor. Returning home meant that Gerri would find her crochet needles and crochet blankets that would lie around the house for years. Sports fan at heart, Gerri appreciated to watch most sports on t.v. As per Gerri’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations in memory of Gerri may be made to the Temiskaming Hospital Care Close to Home.
