Dear Marilyn, Terry, Tim and Mary-Jane: Our thoughts are with you in your time of loss. Bob was a great man and always greeted us with a big smile and something to say. When I worked at the Court House, he was the court officer for a spell and I always enjoyed it when he came into the office and shared a few words with us. He was ever the professional and a wonderful officer who was an inspiration to a lot of people. May your many happy memories help sustain you during this difficult time. God bless you.

I joined the OPP in May of 1970. Bob Little was assigned to be my coach officer so for the first first 10 months of my career I spent an incredible amount of time with him. I also got to know his family spending some time with them as well. During this period I got to know Bob probably better then most of the other officers at Haileybury Detachment. As my career advanced, it became obvious to me that Bob Little was without a doubt the best police officer I ever had the opportunity of being associated with. A remarkable man. He had amazing investigative skills, was a great communicator, had a wonderful sense of humor, impeccable work ethics, a no nonsense approach in dealing with people who were being difficult and the ability to settle a difficult situation by just talking. It seems his whole purpose in life was to simply make the community in which he lived and worked a safer place for all to coexist. He did that very well.
Bob was respected by everyone he worked with, everyone he had dealings with and everyone who knew him.
It would be impossible to speculate as to how many people Bob has helped throughout his lifetime both on the job and off.
I know he certainly had an impact on my life and on my policing career and I am sure he had an impact on many other police officers who were fortunate to have been able to work with or be around him as well. Bob was kind, considerate, and enjoyable to be with. He had a keen sense of community involvement, and truly was a gentleman.
My sincere condolences go out to Marilyn and to the rest of the family in what can only be, a deep and profound sense of loss during this very difficult time in your lives.
The world is a much better place because of people like Bob.
The memory of Bob will remain with all of us who knew him for the remainder of our lives. He will never be forgotten
and sadly he will be deeply missed.

Please find comfort in knowing Bob will never be forgotten.

Dear M.J.,Richard and family. So sorry to hear this sad news.Thinking of you all. Please extend our condolences to your family.R.I.P. Mr. Little. From Irene and Jack Drainville.
I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was such a gentleman and smart and honourable and determined and funny. I will always cherish having the opportunity to work with him. We were working an investigation in Cobalt one day and dispatch let us know my daughter was in hospital with an allergic reaction, Bob dropped everything and sped us off to the hospital. His words on that day stuck...the job is important but family is what matters. Bob lived by that. Bob introduced me to you all over the years and he always took time to have a conversation and check in whenever we met. I heard about his expanding family and how much he enjoyed spending time with you all. Know that you were all loved and Bob was proud of you all.
My deepest condolences, Dana McLean
My Heart gos out to all at this very difficult time of loss.
Aunt Marilyn and cousins.
Uncle Bob was an inspiration in my life and influenced my decision to join the O.P.P.
I spoke to many officers later in my career who had worked with him and without exception they praised his investigative abilities, work ethic, and his great sense of humour. Apparently one of his favourite pranks was to put shoe polish on the earpiece of the telephone and call the extension while watching for the blackened ear that would result.
I last spoke to him in September in the grocery store and we marvelled at how much enjoyment we got from our grandchildren. He will be missed.

Dear Marilyn, Tim, Terry and Mary Jane and families, Rory and I are so very sorry to learn of Bob's passing. Such a great man, true officer of the law, and a great family man. Always enjoyed chatting at church many years ago. May he rest in peace and may God bless each of you.
Dear Marilyn, Tim, Terry, Mary Jane and family,
I am so sad to hear about Bob...your Dad.
He will forever live in my memory as someone who was kind ...and gentle... and always smiling... and positive.
He stopped me once...lights and all.....it was shortly after I got my drivers licence (16)...I was terrified.
But, within minutes there was Mr. Little smiling down at me, (he was so tall) explaining that I did not come to a complete stop a couple of blocks back...what I had done was a "rolling stop".
It was a lesson...not a lecture. I have never forgotten that lesson from Mr. Little and I have passed it on to many 16 year olds (other ages too) since....in fact I've never been stopped for anything. That day made a huge impact on me.
I will miss bumping into him, looking up and seeing that big smile.
Hugs to you all!
Lois Perry xo
