Obituary of Fred Foley

Frederick Mark Foley 

Fred passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital on October 30, 2019 at the age of 85. 

He was born in New Liskeard on July 25, 1934 to Pearl and James Foley and was raised in the area.  In his younger years he worked for Northern Telephone and Ontario Hydro.  His love of hockey provided an opportunity to play and coach in Newfoundland, where he met and married his wife Joy.  After living in Newfoundland for a few years,  they made their way back to New Liskeard and settled on a farm in Hudson Township.  He spent many happy years raising cattle on the farm while also working at Wabi Iron & Steel as a carpenter until his retirement.   He was a quiet and gentle man but was always ready to lend support to his family and friends.

Survived by Joy (Abbott) his loving wife of 62 years, son Jim (Marg), daughters Cindy Phippen (Barry)  and Linda all of New Liskeard.  He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

In keeping with Fred’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
