Obituary of Carmel Campbell

The family announces the passing of Carmel Campbell on Monday August 26, 2019, with her family by her side. Carmel faced her journeys end as she faced her life, with strength and brevity. She was born in New Liskeard on March 6, 1931 to Norman and Kathleen (nee Honsberger) Dodds. She was a telephone operator before she married Gordon Campbell in 1949. She raised 4 children with strong, old fashioned values. She was renowned for her family meals, handiwork and baking. She had a wonderful sense of humour. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Liskeard Fire Department for many years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Gordon Campbell; her parents Norman & Kathleen Dodds; her sister Joan Hooper; brothers Lee & George Dodds; her sister-in-law Pamela Jibb. She is survived by her brother Richard (Anne), her sister Susan, her sister-in-law Dorothy Dodds; her children Brenda (Doug) Goddard; Shirley Allen; Dr. Norman Campbell; and Donald (Cathy); 9 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Carmel is also survived by her in-laws, the Campbell family: Dorothy, Angus & Shirley, Mac & Linda, Doug & Sheila, Barbara & Bill. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Perrins Funeral Chapel on Sunday September 8th from 7-9pm, with celebration of life on Monday September 9th at 1pm also at Perrins.

The family wishes to thank Dr Logan, Dr. Alexander, Dr. Davies and hospital staff for the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers donations to the Palliative Care program at the Temiskaming Hospital or the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion would be gratefully acknowledged.
