Obituary of Michael "Danny" McChesney

In loving memory of Michael (Danny) Daniel McChesney who died peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer at the Temiskaming Hospital on Friday, August 2, 2019.

He is survived by his sister Brenda Champagne (Don); nephews Murphy (Jenny), Chris (Jason); niece Natalie and great uncle to Hayden and Celia.

Pre deceased by his parents Albert "Bert" McChesney and Fern Pettit (nee Foley); step father John Pettit and by his nephew Scott Champagne.

Danny liked to tinker with small engines and electronics.  He enjoyed going to Timmies for coffee, to the bar for a beer and enjoyed fishing.  You couldalways see him walking downtown as he walked everywhere and always had a smile for everyone.  He loved A&W hamburgers and motorcycles.  He was a happy-go-lucky fellow and friendly to all, knowing you or not.

He was a proud member of Community Living Program, Special Olympics and the New Liskeard Horseshoe Club.

Cremation has taken place.  He will be laid to rest with his mother at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Haileybury.  As per his wishes there will be no services.

The family would like to gratefully thank Pam Newell-Peckover, Dr. Smith and the staff of the palliative care unit for making his last days comfortable.  As he would say , They were “excellent” and “awesome”
